Just in from Jeeves ...
From time to time, Jeeves receives e-mails from readers of Lincoln News Messenger.
So far, he has enjoyed getting more information all of them.
Most e-mails enclose data about arriving events that these readers wish Jeeves to add in this column.
Others enclose explanation about stream or past columns.
Fran Neves, who is a Lincoln proprietor and active residents supporter, writes to Jeeves occasionally.
Jeeves always enjoys getting more information e-mails from his friend, Fran.
In addition to all that she writes in the body of her e-mails, Jeeves likes Fran's unique way of signing off.
Fran often ends her e-mails with "See Ya!"
Her shutting always leaves him with the hope that he will see her again.
Hope is a superb feeling.
It creates Jeeves confident about the future.
Fran's shutting moreover reminded him of other wannabe expressions of farewell.
There are many.
Two of them are referred to in a song that became the shutting thesis of a renouned radio show.
And that song still closes the same radio show, that may be seen on Public Broadcast Station KVIE every Saturday night starting at 6 p.m.
While that uncover may not be as renouned as it was many years ago, it continues to have a constant following.
The name of the uncover is "The Lawrence Welk Show."
Even San Francisco Bay area radio mannerism Don Bleu has closed his sunrise uncover with the same theme.
Maybe he still does.
While Jeeves does not watch "The Lawrence Welk Show," he has right away turn aware with the lyrics of the shutting theme.
The lyrics add the French expression, au revoir, and the German expression, auf wiedersehen.
Both of these expressions, when translated in to English, meant "until you encounter again."
And, "until you encounter again" is moreover enclosed in the lyrics of the same song.
Not enclosed in the lyrics is the Italian expression, "arrivederci," that means the same thing.
Jeeves is certain that its ostracism was simply an oversight.
But he looks deliver to meeting you again.
For the next month, Jeeves is receiving a break from writing.
He skeleton to lapse toward the finish of May.
While he is away, Jeeves skeleton to examine out village hydrants, puncture up aged bones, cover up new ones and gather his thoughts.
Who knows? He may even find out when Taco Bell is going to re-open and where.
While he is away and pciking up his thoughts, Jeeves hopes that the town will have a outline for pciking up millions of dollars in accounts receivables as endorsed by Richardson Company in its review inform to the city, antiquated Feb. 25, 2011.
These receivables date back as far as 2006 and may be as sufficient as $6.3 million.
Jeeves hopes that this disaster to gather wasn't an oversight.
If the town is not able to to redeem the monies due to it, maybe an outward firm can.
Thirty percent of something is improved than 100 percent of nothing.
And nothing is what you have now, solely for promising write-offs.
Write-offs do not pay the bills, write-offs do not pay inter-fund loans and write-offs do not pay salaries for police, fire, library and distraction subdepartment personnel.
Jeeves has no skeleton to write off Lincoln, notwithstanding its many financial problems.
He hopes that write-off is not segment of the city's plan, either.
Jeeves moreover hopes to inform auspicious developments with apply oneself to collections when he returns.
He waste confident about Lincoln's future.
Until then, au revoir, auf wiedersehen and arrivederci!
